"Lord, let my words be sweet in case I have to eat them."

It is with profound sorrow that we announce the passing of Karin "Zelda" Z. Rogers, who left this world on August 26, 2025, in Warner Robins, Georgia, at the age of 88. A graveside service to honor and celebrate her remarkable life will be held on Saturday, August 30, 2025, at 1:00 PM at Woodlawn Cemetery in Eastman, Georgia.

Born on July 14, 1937, in Chester, Georgia, Zelda was a cherished mother, grandmother, sister, and friend whose life was a tapestry of warmth, kindness, and enduring humor. Karin dedicated a considerable portion of her life to serving others, retiring as a case worker for the Department of Family and Children Services with the State of Georgia. Her commitment to uplifting families in need was a testament to her compassionate spirit and her understanding of the importance of community. Many who crossed her path were touched not only by her professional guidance but by her genuine kindness and her unforgettable sense of humor. She often shared her favorite prayer: "Lord, let my words be sweet in case I have to eat them," a reflection of her light-hearted approach to life and engagement with those around her.

Zelda is survived by her loving son, Steven (Brenda) Dykes, and daughter-in-law, Robin Dykes. She was the proud grandmother of Brandon (Crysty) Dykes and Brittany Dykes, and the warm-hearted great-grandmother of five. Her legacy also extends to her siblings—Howard (Pam) Rogers and Jewell Rogers Jones—and a multitude of nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends who will forever hold her memory in their hearts. She was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Howard Rogers, Sr. and Myrtice Rogers, and her son, Stan Dykes, whose absence she carried with her throughout her life.

In this time of grief, let us remember Karin "Zelda" Z. Rogers not just for her life's span, but for the impact she had on so many, leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter, and a profound sense of community. She will be dearly missed, yet her spirit will continue to inspire all who knew her.
