Louis Joseph Peeters

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Louis Joseph Peeters on August 10, 2025. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather and friend, who left us surrounded by love and cherished memories.

Born on July 26, 1938 in Green Bay Wisconsin to Lucille and Harold Peeters, Louis was a graduate of Marquette University where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Electrical  Engineering. He started his career with Delco Electronics in Milwaukee Wisconsin and in 1972 he and his wife Mary and their three children moved to Santa Barbara. He continued working there until he retired in 2007.

Beyond his work he had many hobbies; backpacking in the Sierras, scuba diving around the Channel Islands and gardening in his yard were among his favorites.

Most importantly, Louis was a loving husband and father dedicated to his children and grandchildren, who will forever carry forward his values, wisdom, and caring attitude. He lived with purpose and integrity, leaving a lasting impression on all those he met.

He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Mary; children Timothy (Xochitl), Alicia Devericks (Mike) and Daniel; and his grandchildren Emily Emerson (Steven), Lauren, Jacob Devericks, Tallan, Benjamin Devericks and Ludreas.

Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Friday September 19th at Saint Raphael’s Church, 5444 Hollister Ave, Santa Barbara. Internment will follow at Goleta Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please make donations in Louis’s name to your favorite local charity.
