With heavy hearts, we announce the peaceful passing of Loretta Archuleta Solano at the age of 77. Loretta passed away at home on August 18, 2025, surrounded by her loving family after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. Even in her final days, Loretta's kindness, grace, and deep love for her family and friends remained unwavering. She was a true example of strength, compassion, and unconditional love. Loretta was born on March 11, 1948, in Greeley, Colorado. She was the cherished first niece in her family—deeply adored by her many uncles and aunts from the very beginning. Loretta was a devoted mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend whose positive energy left a lasting impact on all who knew her. She was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Viola Solano and Adalaido "Eddie" Solano, a proud World War II veteran honored with both the Purple Heart and Silver Star. She was also preceded in death by her brother Edward "Gene" Solano and her nephew Mario Villarreal, lovingly known as Mossberg. Loretta is survived by her loving partner Roberto Fierro; her devoted daughter Janine Alba (her miracle baby) and son-in-law David Alba. She was a proud and loving grandmother to Jose, Jonathan, Andres, Adan, and her first and only granddaughter, Yarelii. She is also survived by her siblings Margie Villarreal and Dennis Solano, sister-in-law Babba Solano, along with nine nieces and nephews who adored her dearly. A proud pillar of Denver’s East Side community, Loretta was known for her decades of service as a bartender at Marco’s Bar and for caring for generations of children in her home, which was always filled with warmth, laughter, and love. She was widely respected and admired for her strength, generosity, and vibrant personality. Loretta found joy in life’s simple pleasures: watching novelas and game shows— Family Feud was her favorite—listening to Los Temerarios, and cooking for her loved ones. Her breaded pork chops and Fritos taco salad were legendary and made with love. Her strongest and most treasured bond was with her daughter Janine. Their connection was rooted in unconditional love, support, and shared strength. Loretta instilled in her family a legacy of love, patience, and grace— values that will live on through each of them. Loretta was strong. She did not fear death, and she faced it with unmatched courage, fighting until her very last breath. Her resilience and spirit will be forever remembered. Loretta will be dearly missed and forever remembered as a loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, niece, and friend. Her impact on those around her will never be forgotten.
