Elizabeth Myrthelene “Beth” Sayles of Eugene, formerly of Albany, Oregon, passed away on July 26, 2025 at the age of 94.
She was born November 20, 1930 in Burns, Oregon to Louis M. and Myrthelene Hughet. She was the youngest of four children and grew up on a ranch in Harney County.
Beth graduated from Burns Union High School and attended business school in Portland, Oregon. In her early adult years she was a veterinarian assistant, and then worked for the Oregon State Agriculture Brands and Theft Division in Salem. She was also a legal secretary for many years in Eugene and Albany. Later she became the Bookkeeper for her husband Stan’s business at Valley Auto Electric in Albany.
Beth married Stanley Sayles in 1952. They were married for 67 years until Stan passed away in 2019. They raised three daughters, Laurie, Tammy and Cassandra.Beth had been a member and treasurer for the Genealogy Society and a member of the Altrusa Club for business women. Beth and Stan were longtime loyal members of the American Legion Post 10 in Albany, Oregon.
She is survived by her daughters, Tammy (“Stephane”) Everall and Cassandra Hiebert (Jim); son-in-law, David McNeese; grandchildren, Eric Everall, Tyler Everall (Crislyn),and Cody McNeese; great-grandsons, Joseph Everall and Waylon Everall; many beloved nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Beth was predeceased by her parents, Louis and Myrthelene; husband, Stanley; daughter, Laurie McNeese; son-in-law, Joe A.Everall; siblings Louis Hughet Jr., Helen Katter, and Doris Yriarte
.A Celebration of Life will be held August 30 at 1:00 p.m. at the American Legion Post 10 in Albany, Oregon. Interment was on August 25th at Willamette National Cemetery where she was placed with her husband Stan. Together again in heaven. May they rest in peace and their spirits soar free.
