Robert George Schmohr, 98 passed away peacefully on August 20, 2205.  He was surrounded by his two sons, Gary Schmohr, Donn Schmohr and Donn’s wife Beth Schmohr.

 

Bob was born January 3, 1927 in Claytonia, Nebraska to Carl and Sophia Schmohr.  He had many stories from his early childhood including stories of his dogs Peewee and Buster.  These bedtime stories are still remembered by his son’s and grandchildren.   Bob graduated from Claytonia High School in 1944.  He then joined the army and served in Germany towards the end of World War II.   He had a rare meeting with his brother Loren in Germany before returning home.   After returning from the war he attended Lincoln School of Commerce. 

 

Bob and Delores Carol Christensen were married June 10, 1949.  They shared a life in Lincoln, NE with their two sons.  Bob worked in Lincoln for Gooch Milling Co. in administration and retired in 1993 holding both titles as President of Gooch Milling Co and Vice President of Archer Daniels Midland (ADM). Upon retirement, Bob and Delores moved to Sun City West, AZ.  He enjoyed swimming and riding horses.  The couple enjoyed traveling to Hawaii and Europe.

 

In 2015, Bob attended the WWII Honor Flight and visited Washington DC.  Bob always enjoyed a good joke and dancing.  He said he liked dancing but didn’t have good rhythm.

 

Bob leaves behind his children Gary and Donn (Beth), 4 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.  Proceeding him in death is Delores his wife (4/2016), brother Loren Schmohr, sister Norma Stokebrand and his parents.

 

Robert George Schmohr’s remains will be located along with his wife, Delores at Lord of Life Lutheran Church, Sun City West, AZ where they were members for over 30 years.
