Margarito Montesinos Martinez peacefully passed away on Monday, August 18, 2025, in Phoenix, Arizona. Margarito was born in Putla de Guerrero, Oaxaca, Mexico, on December 22, 1956. He is survived by his children: Margarito Martinez Jr., David Martinez, Daniel Martinez, Ralf Martinez, Carolyn Martinez, and Thalia Martinez. Margarito will also be missed by his many adoring grandchildren, aunts, nieces, uncles, cousins, and friends. He is also survived by extended family, colleagues, and many dear friends who will deeply miss his kindness, steady presence, and gentle wisdom.
The Martinez family wishes to extend their sincerest thanks to his treatment team, Nurses from the Stillwater Hospice, who continued to care for him after he was first diagnosed. A special thank you to his team of doctors and specialists who were also involved in his care. A visitation will be held in Margarito’s honor on Friday, September 26th, 2025, from 4 pm to 8 pm at the Legacy Funeral Home located at 1374 N Arizona Ave, Chandler, AZ 85225. A mass service will take place on the morning of Saturday, September 27th, 2025, at 8 am at Santa Lucia Temple in Guadalupe, before Margarito will be laid to rest at the Guadalupe Cemetery located at 4649 S. Beck Ave, Tempe, Arizona 85282. Flowers and/or other funeral donations can be given directly to the Martinez family located at 5541 E. Calle Sonora, Guadalupe, AZ 85283 or by telephone at 480.450.8738.
Margarito’s life was a testament to faith, love, and resilience, and his legacy will live on through his family and all those he touched.
