John Allan Hamblin
May 5th, 1930 - August 20th, 2025
John Allan Hambin Age 95 passed away on August 20th, 2025, in Mesa AZ. He was the loving husband of his late wife Rhoana Rose (Rena) Elder Hamblin. They were married for 57 years.
John was born May 5th, 1930, in Mesa AZ. He was the son of John Arlington Hamblin and Ileen Curnutt Hamblin. He attended Mesa High School and Northwestern University where he earned a Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS).
John has many fond memories of activities in High School where he was the Senior Class President of his graduation class and made lifelong friends. He was also a member of the Marching Band. He had a love of music and played in many bands throughout his life, including the Mesa City band which he was a member of until he was 88 years old.
John practiced dentistry in Mesa for over 50 years along with his father and brothers.
John and Rena were High School sweethearts and were married in the Mesa Arizona Tempe on June 21, 1951. While in dental school their oldest daughter Joanna was born. After dental school, John joined the Navy and was stationed in San Diego where they welcomed their next 2 daughters Laura and Karen. In 1956, John moved back to Mesa and started his dental practice with his father. After returning to Mesa, they welcomed two more daughters, Alison and Martha.
John was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and served in several callings. One of his favorite callings was serving in the Mesa Az temple as the shift coordinator and found it very rewarding.
John is survived by his five daughters. Joanna Owens (Dale), Laura Pew (David), Karen Carter (Robert), Alison Allen (John), Martha Sawyer, 17 grandchildren, and many great grandchildren. He was proceeded in death by his wife Rena, parents John and Ileen Hamblin, Brothers Dale Hamblin, Lyle Hamblin, sister Carol Hamblin Weigler, granddaughter K’lee Owens and son in law Greg Sawyer.
Services for John were private, with internment in the Mesa City Cemetery.
