William Thomas Masefield

William “Bill” Masefield 

May 8, 1956 - August 28, 2025

Bill Masefield, affectionately known as “Grumpy” passed on August 28, 2025, at the age of 69. Born in Brockton, Massachusetts to Dorothy and Richard Masefield.

He is survived by his loving wife Maryanne of Haines City, Florida; his sons Bill Masefield Jr. and his partner Joseph of Dallas, Texas, and Robert Masefield of Attleboro, Massachusetts; his beloved granddaughter Kylie McSharry, lovingly known as his “Little Bits”; and her mother Susan McSharry.

Bill is also survived by his mother-in-law Alice Brennan; his sisters-in-law Michelle (David) Peterson, Bernadette Brennan, Kathleen (John) Lewis, Maureen Masefield; his sister Theresa (Tom) Terrio; cousin Lance Dupuy. As well as many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded by his parents and brothers Kerry, Brian, and Richard.

After many years working for Star Market(Shaw’s), he retired to Florida with Maryanne to escape the cold and snowy New England winters and enjoy the sunshine, Disney and his driveway garden that he tended daily. 

He found joy in the simple pleasures of life, especially afternoons at Disney World with Maryanne, where they explored new foods and adventures together. His love for his family and the everyday moments made him a beloved figure to all who knew him.

In addition to loving his family and friends infinitely, he will be remembered for his love of Budweiser and “Grumpy” t-shirts. 

A Celebration of Life for Bill will be held at Stoneforge Grill located in Easton, Massachusetts on Saturday, November 15, 2025, at 1 PM. All are welcome. In lieu of flowers make a donation to your favorite charity in Bill's name.
