In Loving Memory

Holly Elizabeth Long, 46, of Columbia, South Carolina, passed away on August 23, 2025. Holly was born on July 9, 1979, in Columbia, South Carolina, to Franklin Branch Long, Jr. and Laura Franklin Long Obi.

Holly attended Lexington High School and graduated from Midlands Technical College with an Associate of Arts degree. Holly loved her Lord, her family, her animals and making others laugh.  She had a very special place in her heart for her cats, Winnie Mae, named after her great-grandmother; Stewart Leviticus; Deebs; and Bemo.  If Holly was not spending time with her cats or family and friends, you would find her grilling on “Becky Blackstone” or watching her Clemson Tigers. Holly was also a person who loved to help others. Holly proved what a selfless person she was by donating her organs to give others a potential chance at life.

Holly is survived by her father, Frankie Long and her mother, Laura Obi. She is also survived by her paternal grandmother, Martha Gatlin Long, her sister, Brittany Long (Gee), her aunts, Lori Patrick (Wyman), Lisa Michaelis (Joe), Leigh Albers, and Terri Price (Steve), nephews, Melton Rabon, Troy Rabon and Grant Price (Taylor) and nieces, Alyssa Long, Alexa Lowder and Ashton Price (Pat). She is preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, James E. Franklin and Beverly Pender Franklin Bolin and her paternal grandfather, Franklin B. Long.

A celebration of life service will be held at Thompson Funeral Home, 4720 Augusta Road, Lexington on Saturday, September 13th, 2025, at 1 pm with Pastor John Yorio of Saluda River Baptist Church officiating. The family will receive guests following the service.  Memorials may be made to the South Carolina Organ & Tissue Recovery Services, 2215 Henry Tecklenburg Drive, Charleston, SC 29414.

It would make Holly proud for her friends and family to wear bright colors, but come as you are.
