Frank Herbert Whiting
October 20th, 1925 - August 24th, 2025
Frank Herbert Whiting of Castle Rock and recently Denver, Colorado entered eternal life with Jesus Christ on Sunday, August 24, 2025. He was 99 years old.
Frank was born on October 20, 1925 in Denver, Colorado. He was preceded in death by his wife Betty Lou (Clouse) Whiting. He is survived by his nephews and nieces: David Zaffore, Brad (Heather) Whiting, Linda Lane, Sue (Dan) Bradley, Kathy Zaffore, Billy (Patti) Clouse and Lory Foster as well as many great nephews and nieces and great-great nephews and nieces.
Frank worked for Gates Rubber Company as a machinist from 1942-1981 except for the years he served in WWII. During the war he was an Army Combat Engineer, a bridge builder, sharp shooter and personal driver for his sergeant. He enjoyed telling stories of his war experiences.
After his retirement from Gates, Frank and his wife Betty built their home on 50 acres outside of Castle Rock. He raised chickens, cattle, and horses. Frank loved building anything and was ingenious about creating gate closures and outbuildings on his ranch and at his cabin outside of Jamestown, Colorado.
Frank loved his Lord and faithfully drove into Denver every Sunday from Castle Rock to attend his church. He served as a deacon and usher until he was 97 years old.
Frank loved to joke and play games with the kids. He loved to ride horses whenever he could and loved kicking up his heels with his wife any time they could ballroom dance together. Over the years he cherished each of his dogs. He had so many stories to tell about his first car, his time in the war, his work at Gates, and the history of both of his properties.
Frank lived a full life and was active until the very end when he was ready to see his wife and his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
