Nadine Kikuye Kato

Nadine Kikuye Kato, Loveland, Colorado (formerly Greeley), passed from her earthly home on August 29, 2025. She was born in Denver, Colorado, on September 26, 1951, to her parents James Tokichi Kato and Miyeko Yamao Kato. 

Nadine was raised on a farm near Hudson surrounded by crops and cattle. She attended Weld Central HIgh School graduating in 1989. While in high school, she played flute in the band. Following graduation, she attended Airline School in California, She subsequently returned to Colorado where she was employed by Monfort, Webster Feedlots, and State Farm Insurance.

Nadine loved softball and played Intramural softball all over Northern Colorado up into her late 50's until health issues halted her career. She continued enjoying the game by being a scorekeeper, She loved softball and baseball and attended Rockies games as often as possible. Throughout her adult life, she sewed making beautiful garments and quilts and did crafts. She could often be found at a local craft show selling her items. 

She is survived by her siblings; Mildred Kato,Galeton; Lee (Coleen) Greeley; Stewart (Nancy), Wellington; Neil; Greeley; Lori Hill (Dale); Galeton, She is survived by several aunts and uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews, She was proceeded in death by her parents and brother, Larry Kato. She will be remembered for her smile and love of family and baseball.
