Goldie Bryant Tolbert, 71, peacefully passed away on Thursday, August 21, 2025. She was born in London, Kentucky on September 6,1953 to the late James Kenneth Bryant and Ada Creech Bryant. Goldie was a 1971 graduate of Franklin County High School. 

After graduating, Goldie enlisted in the United States Army Reserves and became the first female reservist in Frankfort. Having served her country for 22 years, Goldie retired from the Army. Goldie also retired from State Government, having worked mostly is child support enforcement. She also had the privilege of working at Chenault & Hoge and Keenland.

Goldie loved to spend time with family, gather with friends, and go on adventures with her daughter and grandchildren. Goldie enjoyed crocheting, sewing, cooking and baking. Goldie was very creative and crafty and loved sharing her talents by making gifts for others. 

She will be greatly missed and forever remembered. 

Goldie is survived by her daughter, Angelicia Martin (Jermaine); her siblings, Virginia Coubert, Jim Bryant (Chun) and Tom Bryant; two grandchildren, Phresh Martin and Mercier Martin; her daughter-in-law, Lisa Marie Romano; as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

In addition to her parents, Goldie was preceded in death by her son, Andrew Hedges; siblings, Lillian Balistereri, Shirley Underwood, Janice Miley, and Larry Bryant; as well as her beloved grandmother, Dorothy Baker Bryant and “Uncle Earl” Robert Earl Bryant whom both raised her after her mother’s death.

A celebration of life gathering of family and friends will be held from 2:00pm until 5:00pm on Saturday, September 13, 2025, at Clark Legacy Center, 3000 Versailles Road, Frankfort, Kentucky. Guests are encouraged to bring their fondest memories and favorite stories of Goldie to share with family and friends during the remembrance.  At 4:00pm, military honors ceremony will take place.

Following her wishes, her ashes will be laid to rest in a columbarium niche on Wednesday, September 24, 2025, at 11am, at Camp Nelson National Cemetery, 6980 Danville Road, Nicholasville, Kentucky.
