Adam Philip Gericke, 38, of Jefferson, passed away surrounded by his loving family on Monday, September 1, 2025, following his long and courageous battle with cancer. Adam was born on September 23, 1986, in Fort Atkinson to Philip and Doreen (Hebbe) Gericke. He graduated from Jefferson High School in 2005 and went on to learning the plumbing trade, completing his apprenticeship and becoming a journeyman.

He worked at Dave Jones for eighteen years, working on new home builds. He was an integral member of each team he worked with over the years, gaining colleagues as well as long-time friendships. His career ended as a superintendent on the residential team where he oversaw the work of those he helped to mentor and train. He was passionate about his work and respected by those who worked alongside him.

In 2009, Adam and his friends visited a local bar where Adam was eventually left behind because he flirted too long with the bartender (and drank a little too much). The bartender ended up giving him a ride home and staying to chat until the early hours of the morning. A few short hours later, Adam returned to the bar for lunch, and to see the bartender again- the rest is history.  On August 19, 2017, Adam and Janelle Kopp were united in marriage in Fort Atkinson. This union was blessed with their daughter, Remington, on April 18, 2019.

In his early years, family trips to Hayward and Green Lake were fond memories Adam always looked forward to. He was an avid hunter. Visiting his five acres ‘up north’ to hunt with friends and family was important to him. Every Spring, he would take fishing trips to Canada- never missing a year, even after his daughter was born. Riding ATV’s and trap shooting were other hobbies he enjoyed. The time spent with “the boys”: Robbie, Dustin, Clint, and Spencer were good times with never a dull moment.

Family was the most important thing in the world to Adam. The love and support of his parents throughout his entire life was deeply appreciated. The bond between Adam and his father was that of mutual respect and love. The time they spent hunting together were precious memories made. The unwavering adoration and affection he had for his wife and his daughter- “My Girls”, was felt by everyone who knew him. He was the sunlight in the life of so many and will be dearly missed by those he leaves behind.

Survivors include his parents, Philip and Doreen Gericke; his wife, Janelle; his daughter, Remington; his brother, Trent (Crystal) Gericke; his mother-in-law, Marietta (Mark) Kehring; his sisters-in-law, Shelly Gray, Shaunna (Dustin) Kroupa; as well as his nieces, a nephew, other relatives, and friends.

Adam was preceded in death by his grandparents, Phillip and Maxine Gericke and Arnim and Ethel Hebbe; his grandmother-in-law, Joyce Kopp; and his father-in-law, Keith Kopp.

A Celebration of Adam’s Life will be held on Saturday, October 18, 2025, from 1:00 pm until 6:00 pm at Fairview Bar & Grill, 711 West Racine Street, Jefferson, WI 53549.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to the UW Carbone Cancer Center and the UW Cancer Center- Johnson Creek; and the UW TLC unit, especially Nikki, Fon, Katie, Bethany, Julia, Jadyn, Brooke, Brittany, Chelsea, and Tara for the amazing job they did creating the magical last slumber party for Adam and His Girls along with the rooftop adventure for one last sunset together.

Memorials in Adams memory can be made to the family.
