The Island Funeral Home & Crematory
Kevin Reid Daily
November 11th, 1959 - August 25th, 2025
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Kevin Reid Daily, who left this world peacefully at home on August 25, 2025, at the age of 65. Born on November 11, 1959, in Plainfield, NJ, Kevin was a loving son, brother, uncle, and friend, whose life touched many in profound ways.
Kevin was preceded in death by his beloved mother, Dorthy Daily, who passed away 10 years ago. In a steadfast demonstration of love and devotion, Kevin moved to Hilton Head, SC, in 2010 to care for his ailing mother, ensuring that she was surrounded by family and comfort during her final years. He remained a constant source of support and protection for his 92-year-old father, Richard Daily, who now resides at Broad Creek in Hilton Head.
Kevin is survived by his father Richard and his two sisters, Susan Koppenol and her husband Bob, and Pam Hansen and her husband Eric. He also leaves behind a younger brother, Charlie Daily, his sibling, along with his role as an uncle to nine nieces and nephews, and a great-uncle to seven little ones who brought him immense joy and pride.
Kevin's academic journey led him to Fairleigh Dickinson University, where he graduated and began a long and successful career at Merrill Lynch. Starting in the mailroom in 1979 while attending college, he dedicated 33 years of service in operations, an impressive tenure that spanned four states and even took him to Australia. His commitment to his work and colleagues was unwavering, and he is remembered fondly by those who had the pleasure of working alongside him.
In his personal life, Kevin was a man of quiet strength, reserved yet thoughtful, embodying a spirit of love that resonated deeply with those who knew him. He was passionate about his home and took great pride in maintaining his lawn and property. A devoted sports fan, Kevin enjoyed watching baseball, football, and golf, proudly cheering for his favorite teams, the Mets and the Giants.
Throughout his life, Kevin exemplified the values of family and togetherness. When his parents moved to a retirement community, he purchased a larger home in Hilton Head, providing a welcoming space for family gatherings, ensuring that the bonds of family remained strong and vibrant. His thoughtful nature and love for kin will forever be cherished by his family, who will carry his memory in their hearts.
As we say goodbye to Kevin, we invite those who wish to honor his memory to consider making a donation to the charity of their choice.
A private service will be held, as per his wishes. Kevin Reid Daily may have left this earthly realm, but his legacy of love, dedication, and family will continue to inspire all who knew him. He will be deeply missed, yet fondly remembered.
