Russell A. Johnson (Russ), 68, of West Columbia, South Carolina, passed away September 2, 2025. He was born on October 26, 1956 in Columbia, South Carolina to Lofton and Delores (Gunter) Johnson.
Russ graduated from Airport High School in 1974. Russ was very outgoing and never met a stranger. He loved animals, especially his dachshund, Jefferson. He enjoyed riding his motorcycle and spending time with friends. Russ was always willing to lend a helping hand and was a very hard worker.
Left to cherish his memory are his daughter, Andrea Vega (Juan); granddaughter, Eva Vega; mother, Delores Johnson; sister, Debbie Johnson; aunt, Shirley Abbott (James); and several other family members and beloved friends.
Russ was preceded in death by his grandparents, Curtis and Pearl Gunter and his father, Lofton Johnson.
A graveside service will be held at West Side Baptist Church Cemetery on Monday, September 8th at 11am with Rev. Ray Wrobel officiating. Flowers may be sent to Thompson Funeral Home in Lexington.
