Angela "Angie" Dawn Barnes-Murchison
April 10th, 1959 - August 27th, 2025
"Angie" Angela Dawn Barnes-Murchison went home to Jesus on August 27, 2025. She & her husband, Russell "Gene" Murchison, built their ranch home together in Ione, CA, over the past 17 years.
Angie was born on April 10, 1959, in Hanford, CA, to Wabern & Elsie Barnes. Wabern was head of the Lemoore High Agriculture Dept., so she began learning about the family sheep operation right away. A testament to her & her father's legacy is that she has held the title of "Best Local Bred" for sheep at the Amador County Fair for the past 4 years.
Angie graduated from Clovis High School in 1977. She became a bookkeeper/accountant, holding positions with several prominent businesses. She served as the Financial Services Director for the California Association of Future Farmers of America (CAFFA). To quote a former board member, "During that time she took the CAFFA finances from being housed within the State Department of Education, to an incorporated entity with excellent fiscal soundness." Angie opened 414 Accounting in 2016, which was a fulfillment of her dream to have her own business. She was active in her community as a member of Soroptimists & mentored local students with their 4H, FFA, & Grange sheep projects. Angie was known by many children and their young mothers as "mom" and "GG".
Angie is survived by her husband, Gene Murchison; children, Amanda Ferry (John), Rob Sullivan (Kat) & Jesse Murchison; her mother, Elsie Barnes; sisters, Danella Barnes-Penman (Ingrid) and Janella Berens (Steve); 5 grandchildren & 16 nieces & nephews. Her father, Wabern Barnes & sister, Cindy Peek, were waiting to greet her in Heaven.
There will be no services at this time.
