Patricia "Patty" Corcoran
February 8th, 1953 - August 29th, 2025
Patricia "Patty" Corcoran, a beacon of love and joy, was called home by our Heavenly Father on August 29, 2025, at the age of 72, in Venice, Florida, following a cardiac arrest after a long battle with PSP. Born on February 8, 1953, in Brooklyn, NY, Patty's life was a testament to the power of faith, love, and determination.
Patty was a cherished daughter, a devoted wife of 34 years, and a beloved sister. Her commitment to her family was unwavering, and she was the heart of every gathering. She leaves behind a legacy of love in her devoted spouse, Henry Gonzalez, and is remembered with affection by her sisters Donna Amato, Elena Marinello, Leonora Bentivegna, and their spouses Chris and Frank. Patty was predeceased by her parents, John and Helen.
An alumna of Bishop Kerney High School in Brooklyn, Patty's thirst for knowledge and excellence led her to Brooklyn College, where she graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree. Her career as a Systems Analyst was marked by dedication and success, as she worked with numerous reputable brokerage firms in New York. Patty's professional life was a reflection of her meticulous nature and her ability to bring clarity to complex situations.
Patty's faith in Christ was the cornerstone of her existence. It shaped her worldview, her interactions, and her purpose. She walked in the light of God's love and spread that light wherever she went. Patty's Christian beliefs were not just a part of her life; they were her life, and she shared her faith through her actions and her words, inspiring many to embrace the path of kindness and generosity.
A lover of life's simple pleasures, Patty found joy in dancing – a passion that brought her immense happiness and allowed her to express her spirit freely. Her love for travel was another avenue through which she explored God's magnificent creation, always with a sense of wonder and gratitude.
Patty was the embodiment of loving-kindness. Her generosity knew no bounds, and her heart was as open as her arms, always ready to comfort, support, and uplift those around her. She was a living example of the Christian virtues of charity and benevolence, and her presence was a source of solace and encouragement to all who knew her.
As we celebrate Patty's life, we are reminded of the words of Scripture: "Well done, good and faithful servant." Patty lived her life as a testament to these words, serving her family, her community, and her Lord with an unshakeable faith and a boundless love.
While we mourn the loss of such a radiant soul, we also rejoice, knowing that Patty has been welcomed into the eternal kingdom of God, where she dances in the light of His glory. Her life was a beautiful melody of compassion and grace that will continue to resonate in the hearts of those who loved her.
Today, we honor the memory of Patricia "Patty" Corcoran, a woman who touched lives, shaped destinies, and left the world a better place. Her legacy of love will continue to inspire us, and her spirit will forever be a guiding light on our journey through life. Patty's passing is not an end but a transition to a new chapter in the presence of our Lord, where she will forever be cherished and remembered.
