William Wilston Ames, son to late James and Arlene Ames, died at the age of 79 on August 26th, in Northern Colorado.  William, known to all as “Bill”, was born in 1946 in Scranton, Pennsylvania.  Bill’s commitment to serving his community and others started at a young age.  He became and Eagle Scout and later joined the United States Airforce.  While stationed in Thailand, Bill met Leo Fan and started his family.  They had three children, the late Julia Misewicz, mother to Matthew and the late Brandon Misewicz, Jeanette Allen-Larsen, mother to Christopher and Cameron Allen, and Alexander Ames, father to Alexandra and Samantha Ames.  Retiring from the Air Force as a Master Tech Sargeant,  Bill relocated to Greeley, Colorado to accept a position as CEO with the Burris Company.  Bill continued using his strong acumen to own and operate a restaurant and then working in retail operations.

During the 2002 Olympics, Bill continued to show his love for his country by carrying the Olympic torch.  The community in which Bill lived, will never forget the joy of the holidays as he was thought to be Santa Claus and children would leave letters to Santa at this wonderful display of lights.

John 14:1-3 (NIV) “Do not let your hearts be troubled.  You believe in God; believe also in me.  My Father’s house has many rooms; if that were not so, would I have told you that I am going to prepare a place for you?  And if I go and prepare and place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am.”:

Bill will be remembered by all that his life has touched.  Our love for him will always be strong.  He is survived by Maria Nardini, daughter Jeanette Allen-Larsen, Greg Larsen, son Alexander Ames, Stephanie Mangers Ames and four grandchildren Christopher, Cameron, Alexandra and Samantha.
