Linda Anne Ramsey

Linda Anne Ramsey, 86, of Lutz, Florida, passed away on August 31, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. She leaves behind a legacy of devotion, strength, and love, cherished by her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

Born on August 11, 1939, in Muncie, Indiana, Linda was the eldest daughter of Willis and Hazel Phelps. Growing up alongside her sisters, Kaye and Nancy, she formed lifelong bonds that instilled in her a deep and unshakable belief in the importance of family.

At just 18, while having lunch at a diner in Indianapolis, Linda met the love of her life, Verland Donald “Don” Ramsey. Their instant connection grew into a marriage filled with adventure and the joy of raising children together. In 1965, the couple moved their young family to Florida, where Don built a career in cabinetry and

Linda devoted herself wholeheartedly to nurturing her family’s success. 

Once her children were grown, Linda pursued dreams of her own. In 1984, at the age of 41, she earned her Bachelor’s degree from the University of South Florida, graduating summa cume laude. Her determination and leadership quickly distinguished her, and she went on to become the Acting Head of Human Resources for Hillsborough County. She later continued her trailblazing career as Director of Human Resources for the Tampa Bay Port Authority, where, after more than two decades in public service, she retired in 2006.

Linda will be remembered not only for her professional achievements but also for her kindness, resilience, and unwavering devotion to her family.

A Celebration of her Life will be held on Saturday, September 13, 2025, at Loyless Funeral Home, 5310 Land O’ Lakes Blvd., Land O’ Lakes, FL 34639. The service will begin at 11 a.m.
