Marcella "Marcy" Lanting of Loveland Colorado went home to her Lord and Savior on September 3rd 2025. Waiting to welcome her home are her parents, her husband of nearly 70 years Ed Lanting, daughter Shelly Biedron, son Garry Lanting, and several siblings.
In her younger years it was as a stay-at-home mom for 7 children that always had her heart, home, and table open to families in need. It was a generosity that spanned over decades as she catered events and hosted weddings in her back yard on Lake Loveland. Marcy was an original crafter, and a visionary before her time, which led her to open her own craft store "The Plum Tree" long before craft stores became mainstream. Marcy dedicated her life to service joining Epsilon Sigma Alpha, a woman's philanthropic group, in which she co-founded a local chapter Sigma Rho that spent countless hours serving the local community. She was also passionate about her work with Meals-on-Wheels. Marcy always had an impact on her community.
Over the years Marcy received several awards recognizing her dedication and service.
She is survived by her sister Judith (Dave) Renkenberger, her daughters Diana Grit, Cheryl Lanting, Kathleen Doescher, Laurie Doescher, and son Brian Lanting. Her grandchildren Jennifer (Jeremy) Peterson, Matthew (Lesa) Biedron, Justin (Rita) Grit, Kristin (Solomon) Howes, Tiffany (TJ) Vervalin, Mark (Clara) Biedron, Michael (Cassie) Doescher, Cassandra Doescher, Katie (Jonathan) Willhide, Joshua Lanting, Carissa Doescher, Jacob Lanting, and 20 great-grandchildren.
A visitation will be held September 9th at 11 am at Viegut Funeral Home and a service at 12:00 with a reception to follow. In lieu of flowers please make contributions to Meals-on-Wheels. https://www.lovelandmealsonwheels.org/donate
