Grace "Virginia" Virginia Stockdale Teeples

Grace Virginia Stockdale Teeples, 81, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away Saturday August 30, 2025 of natural causes at home, surrounded by her family. Death came peacefully following a valiant battle with chronic nerve pain due to post-polio syndrome and the effects of a car accident. Though pain ravaged her body much of her life, her spirit remained undaunted. She was an inspiration of strength and faith to everyone around her.

Virginia was born October 26, 1943, to William R. Stockdale and Barbara Grace Jensen Stockdale in Logan, Utah. She graduated from Ben Lomond High School, attended Utah State University, and went on to earn her master’s degree from Arizona State University.

Virginia met her sweetheart, Glen Brent Teeples, during her junior year of high school. Their friendship blossomed into love and, after Brent faithfully served a two-year mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, the two were sealed for time and all eternity in the Logan Utah Temple on December 29, 1964. Together they built a beautiful life, raising six children in faith and love until Brent’s passing on October 25, 1991. Virginia’s devotion and support to her family remained steadfast throughout her life.

Her greatest joy came from her unwavering faith in Jesus Christ and the time she spent with her loved ones. She was a constant source of encouragement, always present at her children’s and later her grandchildren’s music performances, sporting events, and theater productions. Whether cheering from the stands or beaming proudly from the audience, Virginia’s love and pride for her family shone brightly in all she did.

Virginia also dedicated her life to service in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She faithfully served in many callings.  Her testimony of Jesus Christ was the foundation of her life, and she shared it freely through her words and her example. She had a special gift for teaching, and whether in the classroom, at church, or at home she inspired others to live with faith, integrity, and love.

Her influence reached far beyond her home and congregation. For 25 years, Virginia instilled her passion for English literature in her students at Corona Del Sol High School. Her classroom was more than a place of learning—it was a space where students felt seen, encouraged, and inspired to reach their fullest potential. A gifted writer and talented speaker, she expressed profound truths with clarity and grace, touching countless lives and uplifting all who knew her.

Virginia will be remembered for her incredible strength, wisdom, love of learning, unwavering faith, and the lasting impact she made on her family, her students, her ward families, and her community.

She is survived by her four sons and two daughters: Shaun (Jonell) Teeples of Jacksonville, FL; Darin (Karla) Teeples of Colorado Springs, CO; Chelise (Wahid) Nahle of Mesa, AZ; Todd (Stefani) Teeples of Malabo, GQ; Ryan (Kristeen) Teeples of Colorado Springs, CO; and Jenae (Jason) Giles of Grovetown, GA; as well as 23 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren.

Also surviving are are two sisters one bother: Ann (Paul) Checketts, Fruithights, UT; Robert (Jana) Stockdale,  Billings, MT; Barbara (Gary) McDonald, Las Vegas, NV.

Her parents, husband and two brothers preceded her in death.

Funeral services will be held on September 11, 2025, at 10:30 a.m. at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints church building located at 10 S Twelve Oaks Blvd. in Chandler, AZ 85226.

A viewing for family and friends will be held prior to the services, starting at 9:00 a.m. at the same location.

Interment will take place at the Logan City Cemetery on September 13, 2025, at 11:30 a.m.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial donations be made to one of her two favorite charities: the American Cancer Society or the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.
