Linda Rae Davis, age 81, passed peacefully in the arms of her beloved husband, Randy, at their home on Sunday evening, August 31st, following heart failure. Her departure came just one day before her 82nd birthday, a poignant reminder of a life lived with grace, love, and unwavering faith.

Born in Long Beach, California, Linda was the youngest of three daughters to Joe and Sally Hovig. She spent her formative years in New Richland, Minnesota, where she first displayed her spirited work ethic as a car hop at a root beer stand. Following high school, she pursued beauty school, proudly continuing the tradition of hairstyling shared by her mother, sisters, and aunts.

Linda met Randy while he was serving a mission in Minnesota. Their love blossomed after his return, and they were sealed in the Mesa Arizona Temple on January 10, 1964. Together, they built a life filled with devotion and adventure—raising their three children, Chris, Cori, and Marcie, first in Phoenix, then in Pima, Arizona, and eventually settling in Caldwell, Idaho.

In Caldwell, Linda found her professional home at the Magic Mirror salon, where she worked for decades. She also taught at a beauty school for several years, a role she cherished deeply. Her passion for beauty extended beyond the salon—she gave makeover classes in Relief Society and delighted in helping others feel radiant, never seen without her signature eyelashes and a closet full of cherished wigs she often shared with those in need.

Linda’s faith was the cornerstone of her life. She served in many church callings, including Relief Society president, but found her greatest joy working with the young women and serving in the Boise and Meridian temples. Her testimony was steadfast, symbolized by the gold CTR ring she wore daily.

In 2000, Linda was diagnosed with scleroderma, an autoimmune disorder that challenged her physically but never dimmed her spirit. Through priesthood blessings, she experienced remission and continued to live actively, especially enjoying weekly movie outings with Marcie.

Linda found joy in music, family gatherings at the barn, and game nights with dear friends. She was a peacemaker, a nurturer, and a woman of quiet strength. Her love for the Lord and her family was profound and ever-present.

She leaves behind a legacy of kindness, beauty, and faith. Linda was deeply loved and will be sorely missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her. Linda Davis was preceded in death by her mother and father and is survived by her husband Randy, son Chris (Angie), daughter Cori (Ryan), and daughter Marcie, along with 7 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

The Davis family extends heartfelt thanks to everyone for their love, support, and the many acts of kindness shown during this time.  A viewing for friends and family will be held on Saturday, September 6, 2025 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Old Highway 30 Building in Caldwell from 9:00-9:45 am.  The funeral service will begin at 10:00am.  Interment will be held on Monday, September 8, 2025 at 10:00 am at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens in Caldwell.  Memories and condolences can be shared at www.flahifffuneralchapel.com
