Marge Smith

Marge Smith passed away peacefully on September 2, 2025.  She was born October 5, 1929 in Dayton, Oh.  She is preceded in death by her husband of 72 years Doug Smith, parents Cecil and Gail Geeting, brother Charles (Buddy to her).   She was a stay at home Mom for many years before volunteering at Head Start and then volunteered/worked at the Cerebral Palsy Foundation of So Az as a teacher.  She delivered Meals on Wheels for a number of years.  Marge was also very active in her church for more than 55 years before it closed.  She was head of the quilting group, served lunch to many at funerals and weddings, headed the annual rummage sale, read scripture, etc.  She loved to read and especially loved to play bridge.  After her accident she missed her bridge group friends, as well as her lunch/dinner friends at The Cascades.  She is survived by children, Steve/Smitters (Donna), Susan Trumbull, Phyllis Conrad (Bill) and Roger (Heidi), as well as her Sister-in-law Mona Geeting,  Grandchildren:  Stephanie (Anthony), Andrew (Karmen), Jeremy, Jessica, Chad, Ryan (Nykole), Leslie (Nick), Allison (David), Nicholas. 16 Great Grandchildren and 1 Great-Great Grandson; a niece and 2 nephews.  Services will be held at New Spirit Lutheran Church, 8701 E Old Spanish Trail, on October 3rd, at 2 pm.   Please consider a donation to Blessings in a Backpack (weekend food packs for elementary age school children in-need), c/o New Spirit Lutheran Church, 8701 E Old Spanish Trail 85710 in lieu of flowers.  The family would like to thank the aides and staff at The Cascades, Devon Gables Rehab, Starfish (Old Spanish Trl) and Casa de la Luz Hospice for their patience and kindness to our Mom.
