Pamela Busse Barker

Pamela Busse Barker, 83, passed away on Sunday, September 7, 2025. She was born in Mayfield, Kentucky on August 7, 1942, to the late Asa Steadman and Oma Haynes Busse. She was preceded in death by her husband, Brigadier General Larry C. Barker (Ret.), with whom she was married for 55 years; her sister, Sherry Thompson, whom she loved dearly and her brother, Richard Busse.
Pamela was a devoted pet owner and showered each and every pet with love. Pamela retired from KY State Government in the administrative support group, and she worked for Keeneland in the Accounting Department.
She is survived by her nephews Steve Thompson (Kathleen) of Raleigh, North Carolina and Rick Thompson (Kathy) of Yorktown, Virginia. In addition to her family, Pamela had a special place in her heart for her devoted friend and caregiver, Penny Dial of Lawrenceburg, Kentucky.
Private Graveside services will be held at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Clark Legacy Center, Versailles Rd is in charge of arrangements.
