Mr. James H. Smith, age 62, of Gloversville, passed away September 6, 2025. He was born September 16, 1962 in Gloversville, he was the son of the late Raymond and Naoma Smith.
Jim worked at Universal for many years, and after their closure worked for Benjamin Moore for the remainder of his career. He was a member of the Johnstown Moose Lodge and the Pine Tree Rifle Club. Jim enjoyed watching stock car racing, and was an avid Buffalo Bills fan. He loved his time spent at camp with his wife Carol and their dog, Andy, whom he would often take on golf cart rides.
Jim is survived by his beloved wife, Carol Smith; siblings Raymond Smith (Marlene), Patricia Almeter (Gary), and Ramona Schear (Blayne); and his nieces and nephews Justin Schear (Carrie), Bryon Almeter (Nataliya), and Marissa Almeter.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his sister Roberta Gibbs and his niece Alyssa Hersey.

The family wishes to extend an invitation to a celebration of James' life this Sunday, September 14, 2025 at 3:00 PM at the Pine Tree Rifle Club.
All are welcome to attend a graveside service on Monday, September 15, 2025 at 10:00 AM at Prospect Hill Cemetery in Gloversville.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Betz, Rossi, Bellinger & Stewart Family Funeral Homes.
