Rita "Mickey" Catherine Purvenas (nee McDermott), 100 years, of West Deptford, New Jersey, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, September 9, 2025.
Legacy
She passed into the arms of God, peacefully surrounded by family and many of the caregivers who have taken care of her during the last chapter of her journey. Mickey was a naval blueprint operator during World War II and #1 record press operator for Columbia Records in the 60's. She lived with Tom and Jodi the last 20 years after her loving husband passed. She loved all her Grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. She was a member of the South Jersey Suburban Police Auxiliary and West Deptford Senior Citizens Club.
Family
She is the beloved wife of the late Frank Purvenas, Sr.; devoted mother of Frank Jr., (Maryann) and Thomas Sr., (Jodi). Treasured grandmother of Desiree (Mike), Todd (Kelly), Andrea, TJ and Gillian. Adored great grandmother of London, Ronan, Todd, Jr., Lilliana, and Sierra. Predeceased by her parents Catherine and Thomas McDermott and 7 siblings. She will be greatly missed by family and friends.
Farewell Tribute
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her viewing on Saturday September 13th from 9:00AM to 11:00AM in the McGuinness Funeral Home - Woodbury, 34 Hunter Street Woodbury, NJ 08096. Funeral Service at 11:00AM. Interment to follow in Eglington Cemetery Clarksboro, New Jersey.
