Homer Ross Janzen died on September 8, 2025 at Good Samaritan Loveland, Colorado.
Homer was born on November 10, 1932 to Herman and Eva (Kroeker) Janzen. He had 2 brothers and 2 sisters.
Homer graduated from Henderson Public School. He also attended and graduated from Milford Trade School.
Homer married Mary Jean Opfer on October 4, 1951. The have three children Terri (Dan) Kohtz, David (Sarah) Janzen and Brian Janzen.
They moved to Maryland in 1951 where he enlisted in the United States Coast Guard.
After being honorably discharged they returned to Nebraska.
Homer worked at many types of jobs. He worked for his father as a salesman in a hardware store, as an electrician for NPPD, and mostly as a semi-truck driver for numerous companies.
After retiring, he and Mary Jean moved to Good Samaritan in Loveland, Colorado.
There they have lived until his death.
He was preceded in death by his parents, 2 brothers and a sister and a son-in-law.
He is survived by his wife, three children, six grand-children, five great grandchildren and numerous other family members.
A memorial will be held in the Chapel of Good Samaritan in Loveland, Colorado on September 12, 2025 at 2:00 followed by coffee and cookies.
He will have a graveside memorial at Zion Lutheran Church in Hampton, Nebraska on October 3, 2025 at 2:00 followed by coffee and cookies.
