**Obituary for Patricia Louise Plantz** Patricia Louise Plantz, née Obert, a spirited soul born on October 17, 1932, in the quaint town of Milton Freewater, Oregon, departed this world on September 2, 2025. She was a force of nature, combining an unwavering spunkiness with kindness and energy that lit up the lives of everyone fortunate enough to know her. Patricia was raised by her loving parents, Orville Obert and Mabel Jane Winn. Early in her life, she embraced education with the same fervor she brought to everything else, navigating her way through the challenges of a one-room schoolhouse before making her mark at LaGrande Community College, where she met her first husband, Robert McConnaha. From her cherished days working alongside her late sister Shirley on a farm, picking fruit, to her late-life adventures aboard ocean cruises, Patricia lived each chapter with a brightness that inspired her family and friends. She shared her life with two husbands, Robert McConnaha, who predeceased her, and Donald Plantz, who also passed on. Patricia's true legacy lives on through her children: Robert J. McConnaha, Kathleen M. Sweeney, Gary L. McConnaha, and Cynthia K. Baker, along with her grandchildren AnnJanette, Jonathan, Chris, Dustin, Maria, Jessica, Christina, and numerous great-grandchildren. Her family gatherings were a joyous affair, filled with laughter, board games, and the occasional winning slot machine—Patricia had a knack for those! Her zest for life extended to fishing, clamming, and camping, all of which were made even more delightful with her late companion, Bill Myers, with whom she shared memorable adventures and explorations of new places. As Patricia is interred at Hillcrest Burial Park in Kent, WA, her spirit will continue to shine brightly in the hearts of all who knew and loved her. May we cherish the wit, warmth, and wisdom she imparted along her journey—her legacy is truly one of love and laughter, and she will be dearly missed. In loving remembrance, we celebrate the amazing woman Patricia Louise Plantz was—a remarkable blend of ambition, energy, and kindness, eternally leaving her mark on all of us.
