Latrica “Eddina” Raulerson-Syrkus age 52, of Palm Bay, Florida departed this world on August 21st, 2025; so that she could enter her eternal home, which she knew and believed that her Lord and Savior Jesus had prepared in advance for her. Eddina departed peacefully at home surrounded by the love, and in the care of her family. Eddina was born on July 18th, 1973, in Vero Beach, Florida to Charles Hartsfield and Wanda (Richmond) Hartsfield. Eddina lived a portion of her younger life in Tennessee but eventually returned to Florida where she completed her education and started a family.

Eddina was a devoted spouse, parent and sister. She was a passionate advocate for those most vulnerable, and a source of light to everyone around her. Throughout her life, Eddina embodied kindness and compassion. Her selflessness and generosity knew no bounds, leaving an indelible mark on the hearts of friends and family alike. Eddina’s legacy of love will be cherished by all who had the privilege of sharing in her life journey. Throughout her journey, Eddina displayed incredible courage and an unwavering hope and a profound faith in God. Eddina fought with determination and grace, inspiring everyone who knew her. Eddina touched the lives of those around her with her strength, resilience, and unwavering spirit. Despite facing the health challenges that life threw at her, she remained a beacon of hope and inspiration to all who knew her. Eddina will not be remembered for the way her life ended, but for the way it was lived, and for the profound impact she had on the lives of those who were blessed by knowing her.

Eddina enjoyed life and all that it had to offer. She loved spending time with her family whether at the beach catching the sun rise, in the mountains skiing, at home with her sons building Legos, or on her husband’s Harley motorcycle and which her fur baby, Harley, is so aptly named. Eddina cherished the many times when her entire Florida and Tennessee family would come together for visits and vacations. Her greatest joy was making sure the “little ones” had all the pool and beach toys they could possibly want, along with each one’s specific dietary needs and their favorite treat (Bomb-pops) of course. She experienced such joy when running, chasing, and playing with all her great nephews and niece. One of the youngest and the wisest great nephews once said, “I like Aunt Eddina more”. Not only did we like our Aunt Eddina more, but we loved her more than our hearts could handle letting her go. Though Eddina did enjoy life she always knew there was a much better place to be, Heaven with her Jesus. So much so, she requested that all her family make sure that we do what is necessary to see her again. We will beautiful, sweet Eddina, we will.

Eddina was preceded in passing by her beloved fur babies, Lucy Syrkus and King Syrkus, both of whom she loved dearly.

Eddina leaves behind an extensive loving family: her husband, Benjamin Syrkus, her sons, James Calvin Raulerson and Keith Ferrell Raulerson; sisters, Regina (Eddie) Newsom, Reina (Jeffrey) Jensen; nephews, Hunter (Gena) Bryan, Casey (Ashley) Newsom, Cody (Sarah) Newsom; niece, Tori Bryan, Alisha Hartsfield; great-niece, Teiah Bryan; great-nephews, Gryffin (Gryff) Newsom, Oliver Newsom, Sawyer Newsom, Artie (Blue Eyes) Newsom; Parents-in-law, Marc and Julie Syrkus; brother-in-law, Michael (Patti) Syrkus, Ryan Syrkus; nieces-in-law, Grace Syrkus and Elena Syrkus; and her fur baby, Harley.

A Celebration of Life ceremony will be held at 10:30 a.m. on October 4, 2025, at Brevard Worship Center, 6825 Babcock St SE, Malabar, FL 32950.

In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully request that donations be made in honor of Eddina to a chosen cancer research organization.
