In Loving Memory
Cynthia "Cyndi" D. Cook, 65, of Colfax, passed away on September 11, 2025 after a lengthy and hard-fought battle with cancer. Born in Charlotte, North Carolina, she was the daughter of the late Rev. Lemuel "Clay" and Virginia (Harris) Cook.
Cyndi was a graduate of Northwest Guilford High school. She enjoyed needlepoint, reading, and learning the history of the Native Americans. She especially loved spending time with her family; in particular, she loved being around her grandsons. She adored the color purple and a good cheeseburger, and was a faithful companion to her beloved cat, Bella.
Cyndi is survived by her daughter, Holly D. Little of Greensboro; her special friends, Wendy Tucker (Deat) of Madison, Marla Perdue (Jimmy) of Walnut Cove, Tammy Nelson (Bryant) of Lexington; her grandchildren, Aaron S. Mahoney of Norfolk, VA and Daniel H. Little of Greensboro, NC; her siblings, Sharon Brett of KY, Lem Cook, Jr. (Linda) of North Myrtle Beach, SC; her niece, Olivia Brett; her great-nephews, Brett and Wes; and her great-niece, Callie, all from Kentucky.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her doggies, Blackie and Misty.
The family will receive friends at Pierce-Jefferson Funeral Service, 213 W. Mountain St., Kernersville NC 27284 on Monday, September 15, 2025 from 1:30PM - 2:00PM. Funeral services will follow beginning at 2:00PM with Rev. Phil Kirkman officiating. Interment will follow at Shady Grove Wesleyan Church Cemetery, Colfax.
In lieu of flowers, those desiring may make memorial contributions to the American Cancer Society to support others with lung cancer.
