Carol Hull Mitchell

Carol Hull Mitchell (09/11/1942 – 09/10/2025), a resident of Matthews, NC, passed away peacefully in her sleep at home in the early hours of Wednesday, September 10, 2025, one day shy of her 83rd birthday. She is survived by her husband of 50 years, Tommie Mitchell (originally from Lineville, AL); four children: Sondra Beaty (Bobby), Gary White, Amy Jernigan (Todd), and Clayton Mitchell (Edith); and five grandchildren: Morgan Beaty, Zachary White, Oliver Mitchell, Ivy Mitchell, and Evelyn Mitchell. Carol was preceded in death by her parents, Howard and Elizabeth Hull, and her grandson, Marshall Beaty.

After high school (Garinger class of 1960), Carol worked for over 10 years at Belk Store Services in Charlotte where she met her husband, Tommie. She loved raising her children and grandchildren, becoming actively involved in their schools and each child’s recreational activities. She enjoyed visiting with friends and family in North Carolina, Florida, and Alabama. All who knew her will miss her bubbly personality and her bright, dimpled smile.

Carol succumbed to the ravages of Alzheimer’s Disease, a form of Dementia. The family is grateful to Mecklenburg County Social Services, Blessed Assurance Adult Day Care, and VIA Hospice for their care and assistance in her final years and days.

The family plans to honor her life privately. No formal services are planned.
