Jimmie Dixon Davis, Jr.

Mr. Jimmie Dixon Davis, Jr. age 74, of Lake Alfred, Florida, passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, September 11, 2025. Mr. Davis was born on December 11, 1950, in Americus, Georgia to Jimmie Dixon and Thetis Wynnelle (Holloway) Davis, Sr. He had lived in Lake Alfred since 1963, graduated from Winter Haven High School and was a member of First United Methodist Church. He was a re[1]tired produce broker and owner of Davis Melon Sales, Inc. An accomplished outdoorsman, Jimmie was a member of multiple fishing clubs, and a hunting camp. He loved being on the lake and in the woods. He was an avid reader, enjoyed crosswords, and puzzles and could beat just about anyone at Jeopardy. He befriended many stray animals and loved Georgia football, but his real passion was spending time with his family. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Lucius Addison Davis; and, sister, Barbara Denise Davis. Jimmie is survived by his loving family, wife of 54 years, Linda Griffith Davis; daughter, Leanne (Jason) Hoskins; son, Justin (Ashley) Davis; sister, Thetis A. Cavender; brother, Milton Lewis (Mariesa) Davis; and 7 grandchildren. A Celebration of Life will be held 5pm Friday, October 10th at the Adams Estate in Lake Alfred, Florida.
