In Loving Memory
It is with profound sorrow that we announce the passing of Patricia Crisp, a cherished mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. Patricia entered into eternal peace on September 12, 2025, at the age of 80, in her beloved hometown of West Columbia, South Carolina.
Born on October 20, 1944, in Franklin, North Carolina, Patricia was the daughter of Earl and Dorothy (Higdon) Finney. She graduated from Franklin High School and went on to create a life filled with love and dedication. She was united in marriage to her husband, Herbert Crisp, with whom she shared 49 years before his passing.
Patricia leaves behind a loving family who will forever miss her wit and wisdom. She is survived by her daughter, Tracy Crisp of West Columbia; her son, Jeff Crisp, and daughter-in-law, Sherry Crisp, also of West Columbia; her beloved grandson, Bryson Zakes; and granddaughters, Kayla and Lilly Crisp. She is additionally survived by her brother, Tony Finney, and sister-in-law, Crystal, of Davidson, North Carolina. Patricia was preceded in death by her husband, Herbert, and her brothers, Jerry and Jack Finney.
Patricia dedicated her life to creating a loving home for her family. She will be remembered as a straight shooter with an astounding sense of humor that brought joy to all who knew her. Her passions including gardening, which allowed her to work the earth and preserve the fruits of her labor, reflected her deep love for nature. An avid golfer, she was a proud member of The Sandlappers women's golf league and a devoted fan of the USC Gamecocks.
In addition to her many interests, Patricia was a loyal advocate for animal rescue, contributing greatly to local causes. Her compassion touched many lives, and her love for animals was evident in her daily actions.
A graveside service to honor Patricia’s life will be held on Tuesday, September 16, 2025, at 2 PM at Southland Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests memorial donations be made to the Humane Society of South Carolina. The family also wishes to extend their heartfelt gratitude to Nitiki Tillman of Amedisys Hospice for the exceptional kindness and care shown to Patricia in her final days. Her memory will live on in the hearts of all who were blessed to know her.
