Donald Lee Clark, 96, passed away peacefully at home in Rio Rancho, New Mexico, on September 10, 2025. He was born on February 16, 1929, in Butler, OH, to Arthur (Zeke) W and Zelma Anna Clark.

Donald was preceded in death by his parents Zeke and Zelma, his siblings Art Clark, Gary Clark, Dorothy Shoppe, Cleo Shoppe, and Goldie Shoppe, and his beloved first wife of 49 years, Lola Louise Clark.   He is survived by his devoted wife of 23 years, Gloria Clark; his son, Jeff Clark, and wife Deitria; his stepchildren, Debbie Cariveau and husband Bob, Bert Wilson, and April Azure; 10 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.   Donald proudly served his country in the United States Navy for 20 years (or as he would say, “19 years, 6 months, and 26 days”) achieving the rank of Chief Petty Officer, serving aboard aircraft carriers during the Vietnam War. He was deeply proud of his service and frequently shared stories of his time in the Navy, especially in his later years. Throughout his career he earned several awards for conduct, the Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal for Taiwan Straights, the National Defense Service Medal, and the Vietnam Service Medal.    A man of strong character, faith, and unwavering dedication, Donald devoted his life to family and country. He was loved dearly by all who knew him and took immense pride in his life’s accomplishments.   He will be remembered for his service, his stories, his humor, and the love he poured into his family. His legacy lives on in the generations he leaves behind.   A celebration of life will be held at his home on September 20, 2025, with burial services at the Santa Fe National Cemetery to come.
