Jerry T. Sevigne

In Loving Memory
West Springfield- Jerry T. Sevigne, 79, passed away September 14, 2025. Born February 1, 1946 in Springfield, MA, to the late Roger and Emily (Kitwood) Sevigne, as the youngest of 19 children. Jerry proudly served his country as a paratrooper in the United States Army as a during the Vietnam War and was a Purple Heart recipient. Following his service, he worked as a technician in the commercial HVAC and refrigeration industry for many years. He was a member of Second Congregational Church and the Palmer Lions' Club.
Jerry had a great appreciation for the outdoors and enjoyed fishing and hiking. Most of all, he loved spending time with his family. Besides his parents, Jerry is preceded in death by 15 siblings. He will be dearly missed by his loving wife, Judy (Hebert) Sevigne of West Springfield; sons, Jeffrey Sevigne and his wife Paula of Walkertown, NC, and Jody Sevigne and his wife Katie of West Springfield, MA; grandchildren, Shailee Sevigne, and Erik, Tristan and Alex (Laura) Newton, all of MA; great-grandson, Jesse Newton of MA; siblings, John Sevigne of Holyoke, MA, Jackie Lind and her husband Marty of Springfield, MA, and Joan Egan of Agawam, MA; his brother in law, Robert Hebert and his wife Gail of Lake Latrine, NY; as well as many nieces and nephews.
A period of visitation will be held on Thursday, September 18th from 4-6pm at the Beers & Story Palmer Funeral Home. A burial service will be held Friday, September 19th at 9am at the MA Veterans' Cemetery in Agawam. In lieu of flowers, donations in Jerry's memory can be made to the Northeast Wilderness Trust, 17 State St. Suite 302, Montpelier VT 05602 or by visiting newildernesstrust.org
