Lowell Lawson King
November 6th, 1964 - August 30th, 2025
Lowell Lawson King, age 60, of Lexington, Kentucky, passed away at his home on August 30, 2025. He was born on November 6, 1964, to the late Lawson and Rachel King. He was also preceded in death by his sister, Leta Renee King Giraldi.
Lowell is survived by his devoted wife, Robin L. King; his beloved son, Elijah Lawson King; his brother, Dr. Landon King (wife Dr. Kim Pearse); his sister, Lisa Lynn King Allen; and his stepchildren, Michael Quayle, Rebecca Anderson, and Bethany Crutcher. He will also be remembered for the special bond he shared with his dog, Tilly, who was always by his side. Beyond his immediate family, Lowell deeply loved and cherished all of his nieces and nephews, each of whom held a special place in his heart.
A proud graduate of Tates Creek High School, Class of 1983, Lowell remained deeply connected and active with his school community throughout his life. He later attended Georgetown College, where he played football and built lifelong friendships.
Lowell’s passions were as vibrant as his spirit. He was an avid member of local theater companies, a gifted vocalist who performed with many bands, and a die-hard University of Kentucky fan. His love of singing was matched only by the joy it brought to others—he was often recognized for his beautiful voice that filled every room he entered. He also found creative expression through photography, capturing the world around him with a keen and caring eye. Known for his ever-positive attitude and quick wit, Lowell had a gift for making everyone laugh and feel valued. He never missed a chance to connect with loved ones, sending heartfelt texts that went beyond a simple check-in—always including the details that reminded others just how much he cared.
Lowell’s memory will live on in the laughter he inspired, the songs he sang, and the countless lives he touched with kindness, humor, and love.
A Celebration of Life Gathering will be 11:30am - 1:30pm Saturday, November 8, 2025 at Clark Legacy Center - Brannon Crossing.
