James Edgar Houglin
July 12th, 1943 - September 4th, 2025
James Edgar Houglin, 82, husband of the late Myra Elizabeth Houglin, passed away on September 4, 2025 in Lexington. He was born in Frankfort, Kentucky on July 12, 1943 to the late James and Rachel Houglin. James was an avid hunter and woodworker; he also loved to fish and play golf. He was an engineer with IBM and Lexmark for over 40 years before his retirement.
He is survived by son Mike (Mikki) Houglin, of Mt. Sterling, grandchildren, Matthew (Emiley) White, Randy White, Amber Houglin, and Tyler (Kayla Sams) Houglin, great-grandchildren, Finn Houglin, Kay Kay Knox, Jakub Knox, Marcus Hollon, and Elijah White, in addition, his nephew, David Hungate.
James was preceded in death by his wife, Myra and his daughter, Lisa White.
Funeral services will be at 12:00 PM on Friday, September 19, 2025 at Clark Legacy Center, Brannon Crossing. Burial will follow in Bluegrass Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be on Thursday, September 18, 2025 from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM at the funeral home.
