Randy Scott Butler
January 2nd, 1952 - September 14th, 2025
Randy Scott Butler was born January 2, 1952 in Portland Oregon to John and Jennie (VanHouten) Butler and passed away peacefully in his home on September 14, 2025 surrounded by his loving family after a lengthy battle with esophageal cancer. Randy spent his childhood growing up on Reedway street in SE Portland with his 2 sisters Patsy and Penny and 2 brothers John and Duane. He attended school in the David Douglas School District. He graduated from David Douglas High School in 1970. Randy worked for Freightliner for most of his adult life and retired in 2006. Randy met and married his wife Monica in 1988 and they spent their married life in Portland and El Paso, TX. Randy enjoyed fabulous food, the beach, fishing, camping, football and NASCAR. He also loved travel and exploring new places. Randy is survived by his wife Monica, Daughter Cheryl (Marc), sons, Matthew Bendel (Andreana), Stephen Palermini, Anthony Bendel (Rebecca) and Joe Butler. He was a beloved Papa to 17, and a Great Papa to 3. Randy's service will be held at Savage Memorial Presbyterian church 1740 SE 139th Avenue Portland, OR on Wednesday September 24th at 11:00 am. Reception in the church hall afterwards. Internment at Sunnyside Memorial Gardens Cemetary following the reception.
