Tribute & Tallent Funeral and Cremations
Marsha Huntley Malarz
June 2nd, 1945 - September 15th, 2025
Marsha Huntley Malarz, 80, passed away peacefully at home on September 15, 2025.
Marsha was born on June 2, 1945 in Winston-Salem, NC and grew up in Lexington, NC where she attended Lexington High School. She graduated from The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration. Marsha went on to work for 35 years at the Federal Reserve Bank in Charlotte until she retired in 2004 as a Vice President of the Charlotte branch.
Marsha was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, friend and proud Tar Heel. Those who knew Marsha learned about her love for the Tar Heels immediately upon meeting her. She instilled her love for the Tar Heels and all things sports in her children and grandchildren from birth. When she wasn’t watching sports, Marsha loved to read, walk, go to the movies, and complete puzzles; but her favorite thing to do was to spend time with her family and friends. Known as “Gigi” to her grandchildren, being a grandmother was Marsha’s greatest joy.
Marsha was a kind and compassionate person who always put the needs of others before herself. She was an active member of St. Stephen’s United Methodist Church, serving on the staff parish committee and as a Stephen Minister for many years. She also served on the board of Hospice of Charlotte and Crisis Assistance Ministry, volunteering her time to help those most in need.
Marsha is survived by her beloved husband of 45 years, Robert Malarz; her children, Stephen Malarz, and Carly Baucom (Ryan); her granddaughters, Lillian and Riley Baucom; her brother, Stephen Huntley (Linda) of Austin, TX; and her nieces Kristi and Katie Huntley. She was preceded in death by her father, Winfred Arlington Huntley, and her mother, Vallie Flynt Huntley.
A visitation will be held on Friday, September 19 from 2 – 3pm at Tribute & Tallent, 1937 N Sharon Amity Rd. Charlotte, NC 28205.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to VIA Health Partners or St. Stephen’s United Methodist Church.
