Dane E. Simpson, age 78 of Church Hill, entered the glories of Heaven on Tuesday, September 16, 2025. Dane was born on June 9, 1947, in Kingsport, TN to Paul and Juanita Simpson. Dane was a devoted Christian and a longtime member of First Baptist Church of Church Hill. He served as Alderman of Church Hill and Vice Mayor. Dane retired from Eastman Chemical Company after over 30 years of service.
Dane served as the Past Master and Grand Chaplin of Clay Lodge #386 in Church Hill, TN. He belonged to several other organizations including the Scottish Rites, Red Cross of Constantine, Order of the Eastern Star Fairview #80 Church Hill, and was even a Shriner’s Clown. Dane loved fishing, riding his motorcycles, going to his cabin, and visiting the beach every year. He will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend and will be missed by all who knew him.
In addition to his parents Dane is preceded in death by his son Micah Dane Simpson.
Those left to cherish his memory is his wife of 58 years Barbara Simpson; son Fred (Dawn) Simpson Sr. grandsons Quinton, Nathan, and Fred Jr. Simpson; granddaughter Jessica Bunch; special friends Wally Wininger, Jerry Wolfe, and special Masonic friends as well as a host of extended family and friends.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, September 20, 2025 from 12:00 pm to 1:00pm at Carter-Trent Funeral Home – Church Hill. A Masonic service will follow at 1:00pm.
