Peter Bockman

Peter Bockman passed away at his home on August 22, 2025. He was 74. 

Pete was born on February 8, 1951 in Champagne, Illinois to Ted and Carol Bockman. 

He graduated from Soquel High School in 1969, where he excelled as an athlete in water polo, swimming, and football. 

After high school, he attended UC Santa Barbara, where he continued to play water polo. He then attended San Jose State University and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science in 1973. 

After college, he returned to Santa Cruz County and married Carol McGrath, whom he met while attending Cabrillo College. His daughter Erin was born in Santa Cruz in 1979. The family later relocated to Fresno, CA, where his son Colin was born in 1984. Eventually, the family settled back to the Central Coast, where Pete watched his children continue to grow and thrive. He worked in finance for Cisco Systems and Google before moving on to work for Graniterock and Vicor.  

He enjoyed spending time with his children and taking them on trips to the beach, Yosemite, Kauai, and to San Francisco Giants and 49er games. He was thrilled to finally meet his grandson Wyatt this past summer.  

He is survived by his mother Carol Merriam Bockman, his siblings Kim (brother-in-law Charles Cox), Kerry (brother-in-law Ray Agarpo), and Chip (sister-in-law Amanda), his children Erin and Colin (daughter-in-law Caitlin), and his grandson Wyatt. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews and his group of close family and friends. 

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
