Dortha Mae Clement Higgins

Dortha Mae Higgins, age 92, of Mesa, Arizona, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Friday, September 12, 2025.

She was born on June 18, 1933, in Mesa, Arizona, to Warren Clement and Druzilla Rogers. On October 30, 1952, she married her eternal companion, James W. Higgins. Together they raised a loving family and built a life centered on faith, service, and love.

A lifelong member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, she served faithfully in many callings, from Primary teacher to Relief Society President. Her devotion to her church and community was evident in the countless lives she blessed through her service.

Her greatest joy was her family. She loved playing games with her children and grandchildren, hosting family gatherings, and sharing her talents by teaching her grandchildren how to cook, sew, and create. She was beloved by all who met her and will be remembered for her warmth, kindness, and unwavering faith.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James W. Higgins; her son, Kelly Higgins; and her parents, Warren Clement and Druzilla Rogers.

She is survived by her sons James William (Angela), Warren (Patti), and Roger (Bonnie); her daughter, Melissa Harper (Doug); 15 grandchildren; and 29 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 9am Monday, September 22, in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints chapel at 1054 West 2nd Place, Mesa, AZ 85201, with interment to follow at Mesa Cemetery.
