Our Lord called to Heaven, Louise Marquez-Tilden, who departed this life at the age of 95, on September 15, 2025, at home.

Louise was born on November 21, 1929, in a small town of Canones, in Northern New Mexico to Victoriano and Octaviana Vigil. She was one of eight children. Throughout her life, she touched the lives of many.

She pursued a career as a Medical Technician in Hollywood, CA, in the '50s. Louise then moved to Washington, DC, in the '70s and dedicated her time and professionalism as Administrative Assistant to the Chairman of the Federal Maritime Commission.

She was a devout Catholic, parishioner and member of the Parish Counsel at St. Matthew's Cathedral in Washington, DC. In 1979, Louise had the honor of receiving Holy Communion from his Holiness, Pope John Paul II.

Louise is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Loretta and Robert Glass, of Yuba City, CA; grandsons, Matthew Nesting of Sacramento, CA, Wesley Nesting and his wife, Brylie, of Colorado Springs, CO; great-granddaughter, Verity Louise Nesting; sisters-in-law, Mary Vigil, of Albuquerque, NM, and Lolita Leblanc, of Lafayette, LA; brothers-in-law, Toby Marquez, of North Hollywood, CA, and Leo Marquez, of Albuquerque, NM; and several cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Louise was a two time breast cancer survivor in 1973 and 1995.

She was a parishioner at St. Anne's Catholic Church in Albuquerque, NM. She aided in distributing communion to the sick.

She cared for her father in his later years until his passing at 92, in 1982. She enjoyed operating as a census taker and working at the voting polls at election time.

In 2015, she moved from Albuquerque, NM, to Yuba City, CA, where she lived with her daughter and son-in-law for ten years.

We were all very blessed to know Mary Preslar, who helped us care for mom all ten years. The Lord eventually took most of mom's sight, hearing, and ability to walk, however, He didn't take her mind. She was very much into all sports, and always up on current events and politics.

A Mass will be held at St. Ann's Catholic Church in Albuquerque, NM, at a later date to be announced, followed by burial at The National Cemetery in Santa Fe, NM.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the American Cancer Society or Sutter North Hospice in Louise's memory.

Louise will be deeply missed, but her legacy will live on through the countless lives she touched. We take solace in knowing that she is now at peace and with her parents, sisters, brothers, and all her loved ones who passed before her, and ask that she keep watch over us.Rest in peace, mom. You will always be in our hearts.
