In Loving Memory of
With love and heavy hearts, we are broken to share that Mary Burger, age 73 passed away peacefully in the arms of both her daughters after a very courageous fight against Multiple Systems Atrophy on Saturday September 13th, 2025. Mary had unwavering devotion to her family, her husband, her daughters and 5 beautiful grandchildren. Her family was her world. Anyone who knew her experienced her quick wit and humor and how very smart & knowledgeable she was.
She was born on December 14, 1951 in New Brunswick NJ, she later met her husband Lee Burger a Marine after he returned from the Vietnam War. They married & welcomed 2 daughters, Jennifer Lee & Karen Lee.
Mary became a RN where she devoted herself to helping others as she became the ER charge nurse at St. Peters Hospital. She later went on to receive her Master’s Degree from Fairleigh Dickinson University. Mary moved to Florida with her family in 1999 to be with her oldest daughter. She was hired as the ER charge nurse at Wuesthoff Hospital, later working for Health First Health Plans where she retired in 2018.
Her biggest joys were her grandchildren, from watching them in many extracurricular activities, to helping care for them in their everyday lives, she was simply happiest with her family.
Mary is proceeded in death by her mother (Elsie), her husband (Lee). She is survived by her daughter Jennifer (Andy), her 3 granddaughters Ashlee, Faith & Jenna. Her daughter Karen (Mark), her 2 grandsons Nikolas & Michael and her sister Susan, nieces, a nephew and cousins.
We thank moms amazing private caregivers Ms. Karen & Monaee. They helped give Mary the best last years of her life, helping her engage in activities, treating her with dignity & respect and making sure all of her needs were met. They became Mary’s family as well and we are forever grateful.
