Madeleine J. Bachand
November 5th, 1931 - September 18th, 2025
Madeleine Jeannine Bachand, 93, passed away September 18, 2025. She was born on November 5, 1931, the third youngest of eight, in Henrieville, Quebec, Canada to the late Oscar and Lina (Choiniere) Roy. In 1952, Madeleine married her beloved husband, Roger, and soon after relocated to Massachusetts where they began raising their family. Family was always the most important thing in Madeleines life. She enjoyed taking multiple annual trips to Canada to visit her siblings and extended family, cheering on her grandchildren at many sporting events and activities, and numerous family vacations to the Cape. She was a talented seamstress and took pleasure in sewing and knitting as a past time. She will be greatly missed and her legacy will continue to live on in the lives of those she loved.Besides her parents, 2 of her sisters and 3 of her brothers, Madeleine was preceded in death by her loving husband, Roger R. Bachand, in 2017, and by her son, Dennis Bachand, in 2022. She leaves her children, Carol Reinke and her husband Gus of South Hadley, and Michele Charland and her husband Michael of Palm Coast, Florida; grandchildren, Jeffrey Reinke and wife Shannon of MN, Matthew Reinke and wife Caitlin of MA, Christopher Charland and wife Sarah of MA, and Alyssa Cochran and husband Alex of CO; great-grandchildren, Caroline, William and Andrew Reinke, Nolan and Jaxon Cochran, and Colby Charland; as well as her siblings, Pierette and Marcel Roy.A graveside service will be held Saturday, September 27, 2025 at 11:00am in West St. Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in Madeleine's name can be made to a charity of one's choice.
