James Philip Redden, Sr.
February 26th, 1938 - September 21st, 2025
James Philip Redden, age 87, of Lexington, Kentucky, passed away on Sunday, September 21, 2025.
Born in Tennessee, James built a life rooted in faith, family, and hard work. He retired after a distinguished career as a mechanical engineer with IBM and was a long-time member of Gardenside Christian Church, where he found fellowship and purpose.
James is survived by his loving wife, Gloria; his sons, Jim Redden (Julie) and Joe Redden (Nina), his five grandchildren, Ben Redden (Mollie), Zach Redden (Michaela), Morgan Redden, Max Redden, and Adam Redden who all brought him immense joy. He is also survived by a brother, Dalton Redden (Dawn), a sister Joan Baker (Larry), cousin John Bomar (Peggy), and many other nieces and nephews.
James is preceded in death by parents Wayne and Clara Redden, and a sister Francis Smith.
The family has chosen to have a private ceremony.
James will be remembered for his devotion to his family, his steady faith, and his enduring determination. His presence will be deeply missed but his legacy of integrity will live on through all who knew him.
