 It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Peter William Sand, who left us peacefully on September 18, 2025, at the age of 69 in Tumwater, Washington. Born on June 8, 1956, in Renton, Washington, Peter was a loving husband, father, brother, and grandfather whose deep commitment to his family and friends will always be remembered. Peter’s educational journey began at John F. Kennedy High School, from which he graduated in 1974, followed by St. John’s University in Minnesota, where he completed his studies in 1979. He dedicated over 14 years of his career as a Surgical Technician for Providence Multi-Care. Prior to this, he had a significant tenure of about 20 years at Scott Industries, where he was known for his reliability and professionalism.

A man of many trades, Peter had a remarkable ability to build and fix almost anything. His playful and innovative spirit shone through in the love he had for his family, organizing events that brought everyone together. He was a strong and dependable figure, deeply beloved for his caring nature and for always keeping those around him safe. His commitment to family extended to the many animals he took in and nurtured, reflecting his generous heart.

 Peter married Che Chong Suk on June 10, 2009, and together they created a warm and loving household. He is survived by his devoted wife, Che; his loving daughters, Elizabeth and Mary; his cherished grandchildren—eight in total—and two great-grandchildren who brought him immense joy. He also leaves behind his sisters, Mary Brock and Alison Wonderland, along with memories of his late sisters, Colleen Maruska and Laura Bates, and his father, Pierre Sands.

Peter's legacy is one of creativity, fun, and the true meaning of family. A compassionate soul who enjoyed playing with his grandchildren, he will be remembered for the laughter and love he shared with those around him. As we mourn his loss, we also celebrate the wonderful life he led and the countless lives he touched. Though he has departed from this earthly realm, the spirit of Peter William Sand will continue to live on in the hearts of all who had the privilege to know him.
