Loren Edwin Henninger
March 14th, 1951 - September 17th, 2025
In Loving Memory
Loren Edwin Henninger, 74, of Barnum, MN went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, September 17, 2025. The son of Edwin and Alyce Henninger, born on March 14, 1951, grew up on a rural farm outside of Barnum. He attended Central School from 1st to 6th grade and Barnum High School until graduation in 1969. Drafted into the army, he was blessed to spend his military years at Fort Leavenworth, Kansas. Loren attended and graduated from college in Kansas as an electrical engineer. During college he worked for a garage door company full-time during the day and was a full-time student during the evening hours. He was hired by Rockwell Automation where he designed and maintained many manufacturing processes involving electrical systems, both stateside and internationally. Loren retired in 2017 and came back home where he reunited with his soul mate Karen. They were married at the Barnum Fair Grounds on July 10, 2020. Those who knew Loren best describe him as having kindness at his core, a caregiver to many, and generous with others. Quiet and steadfast in his love for others and his Savior. Leaning into the faith he had from attending the Barnum Methodist Church while growing up. “Still waters run deep” Loren was preceded in death by his parents, Edwin and Alyce Henninger; and sister, Barb Holte. He will be greatly missed by his wife, Karen Henninger; bonus children, Daniel (Ellen) Gilbert, Cody (Nora) Gilbert and Kijsa (Jared) Irwin; grandson, August Irwin; sister, Sheri Davis; many nieces, nephews, family and friends. Visitation: 10am on Friday, September 26, 2025 at Atkins-Northland Funeral Home, 801 14th Street, Cloquet, MN 55720. The funeral service will begin at 11am with a reception to follow.
