Memorial

In Lovin Memory

John Preston Carmen (Johnny) passed away peacefully on September 20, 2025 at the age of 68.

Johnny was born in Columbia, South Carolina to James and Margaret Carmen. Despite facing many challenges, he found comfort in the simple pleasures of life, especially his love for western films. His mind ran wild with the outlaws and lawmen of the Wild West.

Although his body may have been fragile, Johnny was sharp as ever and his heart full of warmth. His love for westerns became a cherished bond with those who spent time with him.  He could often be found quoting lines from Jesse James, Lone Ranger or John Wayne.

Johnny was preceded in death by his father, James Carmen and grandparents Walter and Retus Blizzard. He is survived by his dedicated mother and caregiver Margret Carmen, his sisters Sherry Yarborough, Sandra Davis (Matt), Lori Hair (Jason), brother Kenneth Carmen (Debbie) and many nieces and nephews.

His memorial will be held at the Celestial Memorial Gardens on Thursday, September 25th.

Rest in peace Johnny. May your journey now take you across the wide-open plains running with the cowboys, where there are no limits, only freedom and adventure, just as you always dreamed.
