Gene Raymond Masters, Sr
October 23rd, 1942 - September 21st, 2025
Gene Raymond Masters Sr., 82, husband of Irene Parks Masters, passed away on Sunday, September 21, 2025 surrounded by his family. He was born in Versailles on October 23, 1942 to the late James Edwin and Georgia Honshul Masters. Since the age of 16, Gene worked at Hurstland Farm in Midway until he retired at the age of 79.
In addition to his wife of 62 years, he is survived by his children, Carolyn Masters, Lisa Wilson (Terry), Kathy King (Kenny), Lori Smith, and Gene Masters (Christi); his brothers, Billy Parker and Donald Parker; 8 grandchildren; and 6 great grandchildren. As well as his best friend and boss, Alfred Nuckols, they worked side by side until Gene’s retirement.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Wanda Devers; and his brothers, James Masters and Johnny Parker.
Funeral Service will be held at 1:00pm on Wednesday, October 1, 2025 at Clark Legacy Center, Versailles Rd. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be held from 11:00am until the time of service on Wednesday, October 1, 2025 at Clark Legacy Center, Versailles Rd.
